Orphanage Center

Ancient Ethiopian believed that children belong to the community. As such, everyone within and outside the family’s social circle was responsible for taking care of them. However, today’s Ethiopians seem to have allayed this spirit. Over the years, the number of orphans loitering streets in Dhamole and major cities and towns across the country has spiked.

In the spirit of our ancient culture, Gelle Foundation wants to build an orphanage center to end the orphanage crisis in the area. The main aim of this center is to give every child a chance to grow and feel loved. The center not only provides shelter to hundreds of orphans but compassionate care. The orphanage also accommodates young boys and girls who are victims of community clashes and domestic violence. We ensure that all the children we accommodate in the center have access to quality elementary education. We also offer them a chance to transition from the orphanage to families.
